The role of the board of Trustees is to provide leadership and to oversee the strategic direction of the organisation, in line with the charitable objectives and as required by law. Trustees bring a range of skills and experience which ensure that the trust's objectives are carried out effectively.
Nick Loat, MA(RCA), is the chair of the charity. He graduated from the Royal College of Art with a master's in Graphic Design and Visual Communication. Following his graduation, Nick worked as a User Interface Designer for IBM before founding his own design company.
Nick has also served as a Town Councillor and has been a Trustee of Redesdale Hall since 2018. He is passionate about restoring and refurbishing the hall, aiming to re-establish it as a viable, volunteer-led community venue and arts space in the heart of the town.
Sue Berry has over 20 years’ experience providing financial and management support in the education sector. She has been the chief financial officer and school business manager at a number of primary and secondary schools. This role involves leading education settings, some as charities, in financial management, premises maintenance and repair, human resource management, health and safety, catering, governance and IT. This experience provides a broad spectrum of knowledge and skills that are hugely beneficial to her work as Treasurer and Trustee of The Redesdale Hall Trust and will ensure scrupulous financial control and management of the projects.
Graduate of Lancaster University in International Politics and Economics, Chartered Accountant and career in the City in corporate banking and investment management followed by financial advisory roles to business owners.
Voluntary interests over several years as charity Trustee and chairman of Finance Committees.
Lived in London and Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
Recreational interests include walking and cycling.
Jacquie has been a professional fundraiser and organisational development specialist for over 30 years, working within the heritage, arts and cultural sectors. She recently moved to Moreton-in-Marsh to be near family and is keen to support her local community venue. She has worked with large charities and those that are smaller, like the Redesdale Hall Trust, and is passionate about historic buildings, the visual and performing arts and the opportunities they can provide for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Rosemary Mason moved to Moreton in October 2013 and gradually became involved in the community. She joined the YES group at the Moreton-in-Marsh Town Council and now participates in the Croft Allotments site group, representing people's views and concerns.
In July last year, Rosemary retired early due to health issues, which have since improved. She is now a trustee of Redesdale Hall and actively involved in the Neighbourhood Development Plan. Rosemary enjoys contributing to these groups, helping to enhance life in the town.
Val moved to the North Cotswolds in 2009 and currently lives in Stow-on-the-Wold. She has served as a local charity trustee since 2016 and is passionate about community, and organising events that promote social inclusion.
Val‘s working life has been varied, including careers in mechanical and production engineering; information systems project management at the Ministry of Defence; real estate, and dementia care. While bringing up her three children and caring for her mother who had Alzheimer's dementia, she set up and ran a community interest company (social enterprise) to support people who have dementia and their Carers. Approaching retirement, she retrained as a yoga teacher and now teaches Gentle Seated Yoga in care homes.
Her personal interest in restoring historic buildings spans almost 40 years. She is also a keen cook, gardener and runner.
Teresa is an experienced housing and care leader with over 25 years at executive level across housing associations, charities, NHS subsidiaries and local government. She brings extensive expertise in estates, governance and service transformation, having led large national portfolios and multidisciplinary teams.
Gloucestershire born Teresa now lives in Moreton and combines her professional background in strategic housing and asset management with a commitment to community development. As a Trustee, she supports the preservation and sustainable use of The Redesdale Hall as a vibrant space in the heart of the town.
Si Willmore is a travel journalist, with words in Wanderlust,
National Geographic, Rough Guides and more. He's made video for Times
Travel and edits the JRNY Travel Magazine and hosts the JRNY podcast.
He’s an editor of The Best British Travel Writing of the 21st Century,
the youngest-ever chairman of the British Guild of Travel Writers, and a
regular speaker at industry events.
He has led digital marketing departments, for international clients
such as IKEA, Adidas, L'Oréal and Garnier, and has worked as a
consultant for tech companies including Groupon and Patreon. He
volunteers regularly for Cotswold Friends, and somewhat oddly, he also
has a Master's degree in Civil Engineering!
